Kids Academy Photo
I created an introductory photography class at my son's daycare where I taught students the basic functions of the camera and shared photo-based artists. I gave each child a disposable camera every week for four weeks. Afterwards, I developed their photographs and together as a class we discussed everyone's photographs.
The photographs were exhibited in a main hallway in the McGraw-Hill Education corp office in Columbus, Ohio.
The decision to place the photographs in the office hallway was in critique of a manager's choice to discontinue a student identity committee that was created to aid in actual representation of real students, to help fill gaps of student equity. The hallway the student photos were placed in is a highly traveled hallway to the main cafeteria that almost all employees walk by everyday, including upper management that halted the efforts of the student identity committee.
